An exhibition of work by Roberta Edwards.

I was born and raised in Northern California where San Francisco and the bay were home. North Carolina has been my home since 1974 where I started painting in my early 60's. I have always been involved in crafts. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, rug making, embroidery, crewel, decaupage, murals, string art, beading, mosaic, greeting cards, face painting, and any other opportunity of expression and illustrating for visual pleasure.

Texture and color intrigue, facinate and astound me. Now I am in a new decade of my life at 70. Our walls are filled with painting of the textures of our lives. Family and friends have requested and commissioned my work and include it in their lives. There is no greater joy than being able to have a "voice" that speaks from the canvas.

Creating a special way of seeing flowers is very special to me. The garden is my inspiration. Bold and delicate. Strong and gentle. These are the qualities that I strive to bring to my work; each with a special "personality" canvas.
